Pali LTRG
The Pali (Pacific Palisades) Long Term Recovery Group (Pali LTRG) was formed in direct response to the ongoing challenges following a fire in the Palisades in January 2025. The group, which includes local community leaders and is supported by the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD), aims to provide comprehensive recovery services to fire victims.
The Pali LTRG's mission is to identify and connect survivors to a network of donor relief organizations, providing resources such as money, manpower, materials, and education. The group will use a program called Disaster Case Management to help those most in need, including the uninsured, underinsured, the elderly, and those with special needs. They will provide resources for items not covered by insurance or federal assistance.
Jim Cragg, the group's president and board chair, stated that major relief organizations have turned to the Pali LTRG to help identify and vet over 10,000 families in need. The group's launch event was attended by local officials, including Councilmember Traci Park and Senator Ben Allen. Jessica Rogers, the executive director, confirmed that 1,000 people have already signed up for assistance.
The American Legion's Post 283 has been a central part of the relief efforts, serving as a disaster response and relief distribution center. The LTRG will build on these initial efforts to continue the long-term recovery, which is expected to be a five-to-ten-year process.
